Printing on Fabric

On Tuesday 10th February the textile artist James Sharp will be giving us a talk on printing on fabric.  He uses rubber stamps he has based on his own drawings and acrylic paint to create a fabric that can then be sewn into a textile collage.

 

Meetings are held at Alsager Library on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1.45pm for a 2pm start

Making a colour wheel

Today Jean Kilford instructed us all in the art of making a colour wheel. The colourful material was provided and all we had to do was stick, label, hole punch and fasten together. She then explained to us how to use the wheel to find out which colours go together and the combinations we can use. I was especially interested in the proportions to use depending on whether you are using 2,3,4 or more colours. Although we all thought we knew about colour Jean had us all enthralled with her systematic and knowledgeable approach.
