Show Me! Show Me!

The Alsager and District Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild meet regularly at Alsager Library on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1.45 for a 2pm start. Visitors welcome.

On Tuesday 14th January the meeting was a members showcase with all manner of embroidered items on display.

The chairman of the North West Region, Monica Selway, was one of our visitors and brought along an item of her work to show us.

Some unusual items were discussed, including a ladder for spiders.

Members were also able to compare the progress they were making on the tactile books projects many of which are nearing completion.

The next meeting will be on 11th February and will be a "hands on" Bullseye Cushion Coverall, with Jean Thornton, so bring your sewing kit.

On 25th February there will be a workshop "Creating Velvet Backgrounds For Stitch" with Veronica Wells. Visitors welcome but booking necessary, (01782 511572).

  1. The ladder, which hangs from a bath tap to help spiders get out of the bath, is a brilliant idea. I want one!
